Hi, Mel here.
It's been a busy week. I spoke at BrightonSEO about verbal identity, which meant three nights away from all my responsibilities.
While I was there I met our first “in the wild” listener neither of us knew. I was so excited! Please tell your podcasters you listen, it makes us go all 🥰
Anyway, the person I met is Jack from the Search with Candour pod. He also has his own personal podcast called Sequelisers (great name) all about film sequels.
Forgetting how knackered I’d be, I booked the whole family in at the opticians today. I get to have new glasses hoorah! I’ve gone for a daily wear pair and a power suit event speaker pair. Thanks, BOGOHP.
But now, it’s time to flop on the sofa and listen to a podcast (noise cancelling headphones for the win) in front of Disney’s Hercules. If you’re having a similarly lazy Sunday afternoon, why not listen to our pod 😉

You know you’ve made it when…
…you get turned into a doodle by Amy Nolan at inkypix4u 😍 We’ve known and admired Amy for a long time, so to get doodlised was the greatest honour.
Amy has a whole great big doodle shop, check it out. I've just bought some “chatGPT is a poo head” graphics for my next talk 😏
What’s the story?
Last time we asked people to send in their origin stories. We've had a few in already, thank you so much. If you haven't already sent in your “how I went indie” story, our email is show@indiebusinessclub.com
New release
ICYMI, our latest episode is out now and features a note from Lea Turner about how building her personal brand has helped her grow her business. We also give lovely Steve Folland the big-up he deserves.
Sidenote: as it’s been announced I can now shout about the fact both Steve and I are speaking at Creator Day in Poole next year. Come join us for a lovely event by the seaside hosted by You Are The Media. And a freezing cold dip the next morning 🥶
